My name is Doug

I am 16 and in 10th grade. I am diagnosed with ADHD or ADD. I feel that my health diagnosis has had a major affect on me growing up, but I also feel that it has helped me grow as a person. When I was younger my ADHD made me irritated with everyone. I had that attitude that "it's not worth it", but that never worked. I've grown up with this disorder and that was not easy. I am currently on a medication that helps me control my temper. I hope this never happens to many people. It's rough, but you can get through it with the right support. I play football, work on the technical crew for school plays and I was the president of the Robotics Club. I am currently the Vice President of the Youth Advisory Board and I have been on the board since August 2002. I am a part of the board to help teens with mental health disabilities and to get our peers to better understand mental health disabilities. My career goal is to be an architect and to design better homes for people with disabilities.
