Three Things That Have Helped Me to Better Cope With My Disability

By Conrad Thoen

  1. Getting the right services in school on my IEP
    • 1 to 1 instruction for reading comprehension and study skills
    • I have behavior interventions that allow me to take breaks when I need them. This helps with my tics and to re-direct my OCD behaviors.
    • Speech and language services to help with my auditory processing disorder
    • Services from a school psychologist to help me process events so my OCD and Anxiety are not so bad
  2. I've been helped by a good psychiatrist to manage my medication for my disorders.
  3. My mom has helped me with my disabilities.
